Sean Penn, frequently in hot water over his public scuffles, found himself on the right side of the law Saturday, signing autographs at a celebrity match for the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation. “He was walking around, signing autographs. He was cooperative,” said tournament volunteer Francisco Lopez. Penn, 26, didn’t participate in the golf tourney, which featured displays of a police helicopter with a 3-million candlepower spotlight, mounted patrol officers and the K-9 dog squad. Penn’s wife, Madonna, did not attend.
