Molester of Boy, 3, Gets 17 Yrs.
A registered sex offender was sentenced today to 17 years in state prison for abducting a screaming 3-year-old boy from the front yard of a Central Los Angeles home, molesting him, then leaving him naked, wandering in a desolate area 35 miles away.
“The incident before the court is simply an outrage,” Superior Court Judge Robert Altman said in sentencing Kenneth Rasmuson, 25, of Santa Barbara. “It’s clear to the court that the defendant is a terrible threat to society . . . and he ought to be locked up for as much time as possible.” Rasmuson pleaded guilty last month to one count of kidnaping and one of committing a lewd act with a child under 14.
