Ousted PTL leader Jim Bakker and wife Tammy Faye as guest hosts of Fox’s “The Late Show”? The couple are saying they were approached to fill in for the ousted Joan Rivers, but a Fox spokesman said Thursday that they might have misunderstood a call from an “overzealous” member of the show’s talent-booking staff. Interviewed in a Palm Springs bicycle shop Wednesday by the Desert Sun newspaper, Bakker said the two were contacted by Fox representatives who asked them to be among the new rotating hosts of its late-night talk show. “There might have been some sort of contact made; I certainly won’t deny that,” said Fox spokesman Brad Turell, “but no offer has gone, nor will go, to the Bakkers.”
