The Dodgers and the Baltimore Orioles completed a three-player deal today, with relief pitcher Tom Neidenfuer going to Baltimore and outfielder John Shelby and left-handed pitcher Brad Havens joining the Dodgers.

Havens and Shelby, both with the Orioles AAA farm team at Rochester, will join the Dodgers over the weekend in New York where they are playing the Mets. Shelby, 29, began the season with Baltimore but hit only .188 in 21 games when he was demoted. Havens spent all of last season with Baltimore. His lifetime major league record is 21-32 with a 5.05 earned-run-average. The Dodgers sent rookie center fielder Mike Ramsey to Albuquerque of the Pacific Coast League.
