Awoman whose body was found last month in a dry riverbed in Northridge disappeared from Palos Verdes Estates nearly a year ago, Los Angeles police said Friday.

The woman has been identified through dental records as Barbara Davis, 29, Detective Wayne Newton said.

Davis’ remains were found April 13 in Porter Ranch Park by a passer-by on horseback, police said.

Her parents reported her missing June 11 last year after her father last saw her April 30, Newton said.

Davis was “at least a recreational drug user” and had been enrolled in a substance-abuse program before she disappeared, he said.

The parents have told police that they suspect foul play, but the cause of death is undetermined and no evidence of foul play or drug use has surfaced, Newton said.
