Former welterweight champion Donald Curry will fight undefeated junior middleweight champion Mike McCallum on July 18 at Caesars Palace. The once-beaten Curry, who held the undisputed welterweight title before losing it by knockout to Lloyd Honeyghan in September, 1986, has won his only two fights since then, both by fifth-round disqualifications.
McCallum is coming off an impressive seventh-round knockout of Milton McCrory on April 19. McCallum, 31-0, has knocked out his opponent in all five of his World Boxing Assn. title defenses.
