Dominguez Hills Wins Series Opener, 10-7

MONTGOMERY, Ala. —
Cal State Dominguez Hills scored eight runs in the first inning, highlighted by JonBeuder’s three-run homer, and held on to defeat Columbus (Ga.) College, 10-7, Saturday night in the NCAA Division II World Series.
The Toros (43-13) pounded Columbus starter Chip Duncan for six hits and all eight runs in the first. He retired only two batters. Beuder led off the game with a triple, then hit a three-run homer when he came to the plate again in the inning.
