Share

When a video game in a Reno hotel casino did not offer enough excitement for a Mission Viejo teen-ager, she abandoned her father, took off with her boyfriend in a stolen car and was arrested late Sunday night in Oregon, police said Monday.

Dorinda Dillow, 16, was taken into custody in an apartment in Albany, Ore., following a tip to authorities, Albany Police Officer Karl Baker said.

Also arrested in the apartment were a 16-year-old Reno boy, identified by police as Dorinda’s boyfriend, and a 15-year-old boy from Aberdeen, Wash., Baker said. A fourth boy, also from Aberdeen, was arrested at another residence in Albany, he said, adding that all four were being held Monday in a juvenile detention center in Salem, Ore.

The Mission Viejo teen-ager was reported missing May 15 by her father, who was not identified. The father told authorities that his daughter, who he said had run away from home previously, disappeared from the Circus Circus Hotel-Casino in Reno.

Baker said Dorinda met her 16-year-old boyfriend at the casino on May 15, along with the 15-year-old from Aberdeen. Baker said her boyfriend allegedly had stolen a Honda in Washington and driven to Reno, where he abandoned the car. After they met at the casino, Baker said, her boyfriend allegedly stole another car, and the trio rode in the car to Albany, Ore.

Baker said the girl, after being picked up in an apartment in Albany, was being held at the juvenile center in Salem on suspicion of being a runaway and the unauthorized use of a stolen vehicle. The other youths were being held at the same facility.
