County : Teen-Agers Offered Jobs Through U.S. Program

Youths between the ages of 14 and 21 in 10 county cities are being offered more than 450 jobs through a federal government and industry-sponsored work program.

Youths may be able to earn as much as $1,300 during the summer in addition to gaining experience and employee references in positions ranging from child-care worker and teacher’s aide to maintenance assistant and recreational leader, program officials said.

The work program, funded through the federal Job Training Partnership Act and by employers who hire program participants, involves full- and part-time positions in La Habra, Cypress, Stanton, Brea, Fullerton, Los Alamitos, Buena Park, Placentia, La Palma and Yorba Linda.
