Fight Ends in Death of Simi Valley Couple
A Simi Valley man shot his wife to death during an argument and then killed himself, authorities said Sunday.
Police found the couple’s bodies in the living room of their ranch-style home in the 100 block of Starstone Court about 9:45 p.m. Saturday after the officers were alerted by a friend concerned about the wife’s safety, Simi Valley Police Lt. John Ainsworth said.
Authorities identified the couple as Patrick Monroe, 48, and Jill Monroe, 36. They both died of wounds from a handgun, according to the Ventura County coroner’s office.
The Monroes were alone in the house at the time of the shootings. Friends told police the couple had been having domestic problems and were contemplating a separation.
