The Region : Fire Leads Lawmen to Marijuana Farm

Three men were arrested after firefighters, summoned to a mobile home fire in a remote section of Riverside County, discovered fields blooming with 10,000 marijuana plants, authorities said. Deputies from the Hemet substation of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department confiscated the illegal harvest of marijuana plants ranging from seedlings to a height of about two feet, and 200 pounds of packaged marijuana, sheriff’s spokesman Lindsey Lowery said. No estimate was given on the value of the drugs. Arrested and booked on suspicion of marijuana cultivation were Daniel Halfacre, 45, Dean Halfacre, 25, and Antonio Chasco Jr., 41.
