The Southside Slayer Task Force investigated the death of a woman whose nude body was discovered in an alley in South-Central Los Angeles, but authorities said Southeast station homicide detectives probably will handle the investigation. The joint police-sheriff task force is called whenever a victim fits the general description of previous Southside Slayer victims. Sgt. Lon Salzman said the body of a black woman, about 24 years old, was found at the rear of a building in the 300 block of East 102nd Street, and was identified through fingerprints. Identity was not made public pending notification of her family. Salzman said death was evidently due to a blow to the head, and the victim had burns on her head and thigh.
