A $15,000 fine and a probationary period levied against driver Geoff Bodine have been lifted at the suggestion of the National Stock Car Racing Commission, an appeals board for the National Assn. for Stock Car Auto Racing.

Bodine had been penalized by NASCAR officials after the May 23 Winn-Dixie 300 Busch Grand National race at Charlotte Motor Speedway in which he had been involved in an incident with Dale Earnhardt.

The commission members said that Bodine used poor judgment but did not see any evidence that the accident involving his car and the car driven by Earnhardt was the result of rough driving by Bodine.
