The major league amateur baseball draft, which began Tuesday, ended Thursday with a record 1,263 players selected over 75 rounds, the commissioner’s office announced.
The previous record for players drafted were the 1,162 chosen in 1967. The most rounds ever conducted were the 93 in 1969.
