Rock singer Sly Stone was held without bond Monday in the Lee County Jail in Fort Myers, Fla., on charges of violating probation for a 1983 cocaine conviction. Stone, whose real name is Sylvester Stewart, surrendered Friday and was booked on a warrant issued in January. No hearing has been set. Stone, 42, was arrested on cocaine possession and drug paraphernalia charges after he passed out at a Ramada Inn in Fort Myers in 1983. He was placed on probation for three years in January, 1984. The warrant charged that he failed to report to his probation officer and meet other terms of probation. No bond has been set and no hearing has been scheduled, a jail spokeswoman said.
