Lightning Ignites Tires

PLATTEVILLE, Colo. — Lightning set fire to a mountain of 6 million cast-off tires on a 40-acre private salvage lot, and the fire burned out of control today, authorities said. Up to 100 firefighters from surrounding communities battled the flames with foam and water. No injuries were reported.
