A suspected drug dealer who was shot when he allegedly drew a handgun as he was being arrested in Westwood died today at UCLA Medical Center. Brian Reter, 39, was shot in the abdomen Wednesday night by a Simi Valley police officer involved in an undercover investigation, authorities said.

The investigation had led officers from Simi Valley and Ventura County to a service station in Westwood where they negotiated the purchase of half a pound of cocaine. Police said they arrested two persons at the scene, Judith Scott, 25, of Simi Valley and Robert Robinson, 28, of Los Angeles, on suspicion of sale of cocaine and possession of cocaine for sale.
