Venice : Galanter to Reopen Field Office
Los Angeles Councilwoman-elect Ruth Galanter has announced plans to reopen a Venice field office, which was closed by Councilwoman Pat Russell in 1978.
Galanter, who defeated Russell for the 6th District council seat, said she will reopen the office shortly after she assumes office July 1. She will also maintain field offices in Westchester and Crenshaw.
In a related development, former campaign manager Marcela Howell has been named Galanter’s chief deputy. She and Galanter are reviewing dozens of applications for the remaining positions on her staff, according to Howell.
