Police Chief’s Resignation
I am still not satisfied that the charges against former Police Chief Kelson McDaniel are substantial enough to require his dismissal.
It is well known that because of our growth and budget problems, both our police and fire departments are understaffed and underpaid. A mutinous situation was inevitable due to growing pains, not leadership.
Why should the buck stop with McDaniel? Why not the members of the City Council who have been aware of our police and fire department needs for some time now.
An open hearing is due McDaniel and the citizens of this community.
