The Federal Aviation Administration said that air traffic control computers in the Chicago area broke down over the weekend, delaying flights. An FAA spokesman said that two processors in the main computerized radar system at the agency’s Chicago air traffic control center failed once on Saturday and again on Sunday. Controllers used a backup system. The spokesman said passengers on flights in the air at the time of the problem were not endangered.
