BEIJING — A Chinese airliner collided with a military aircraft over southern China on Tuesday, killing the military pilot and injuring one passenger aboard the civilian Boeing 737, the official New China News Agency said.
The agency said the collision occurred as the Civil Aviation Administration of China airliner was coming in to land at Fuzhou, more than 1,000 miles south of Beijing.
The CAAC airliner landed safely but the military aircraft crashed, killing the pilot, the news agency quoted an airline official as saying. One passenger aboard the airliner, which was on a flight from Hong Kong to Fuzhou, was taken to a hospital with “slight” injuries.
