The first Eric Dickerson “Just Say No To Drugs” Celebrity Golf Classic will be played June 27 at Encino Golf Course. Donations of $100 will include greens fees, golf cart, buffet lunch and a free raffle. Companies can contribute by sponsoring a tee or green. The tournament will benefit Dickerson’s Rangers clubs throughout the city. The Rangers, now it its second year, offers a social, cultural and athletic structure for youths 7 to 12 years old. The Pacific Lodge Boys’ Home in Woodland Hills has been awarded $10,000 for its health care effectiveness. The award was one of four presented by Blue Cross of California in honor of its 50th anniversary. Richard Hill, executive director of the boys’ home, said the contribution will go toward equipment for a new activity center and gymnasium. The boys’ home is a nonprofit residential care and treatment center for troubled adolescents 13 to 18 years old. It was founded in 1923.

Matthew Feitshans, a student at Providence High School, and Kelly Moore of Louisville High School were honored at the San Fernando Valley Republican Business Women’s 18th annual “Youth Achievement Awards” dinner earlier this month. Both were awarded cash and Certificates of Excellence, honoring their academic achievements and their community service.
