Weapons Sources for Iran and Iraq

Weapons in the Iran-Iraq War have come from the following countries, according to a report released Wednesday by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.

The report said many of the transactions took place without the knowledge or support of the governments named.

Selling to both sides:

Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, China, Czechoslovakia, West Germany, France, East Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, North Korea, Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Britain, United States, Soviet Union, Yugoslavia.

To Iran only:

Algeria, Argentina, Canada, Finland, Israel, South Korea, Libya, Mexico, Syria, Taiwan, Turkey, Vietnam.

To Iraq only:

Ethiopia, Egypt, Jordan, Philippines.
