The NCAA has imposed a one-year probation on the Utah football program and ordered other sanctions against the Western Athletic Conference school.
The NCAA penalties, imposed for recruiting violations, prohibit Utah from conducting any football recruiting during the week of Dec. 1-8 and reduce the number of student-athletes allowed for recruiting visits from 95 to 75.
The NCAA said Utah was cited for allowing an athlete an illegal recruiting visit to the school, then altering documents to delete any reference to the visit.
