Ex-Eagle Given 15 Years for Rape
Kevin Allen, former Philadelphia Eagles football player, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for raping a Massachusetts woman on a New Jersey beach last Labor Day.
Allen, 23, pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual assault in February, a day after his former roommate, Scott Cartwright, had pleaded guilty to beating the victim’s companion, Joseph Milone, during the assault in Margate, N.J., on Sept. 1, 1986.
Allen, an offensive tackle at Indiana and the ninth player taken overall in the 1985 NFL draft, had been cut a week before his arrest in October. The team has said the decision to drop the 6-foot 5-inch lineman was unrelated to the rape case.
