Police used the Immediate Booking and Release System to arrest 50 drunk driving suspects in Hollywood. Sgt. Michael Pattee said officers stationed themselves near the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Highland Avenue over the weekend and took the suspects to the program’s mobile office, where they were booked and released after a breath test. Pattee said the same system will be in operation at another location in Hollywood next weekend. He also noted that the Hollywood tally was low compared to a recent sweep in Pacoima in the San Fernando Valley, where the officers arrested 151 suspects over a three-day weekend.
