Fullerton : Cal State Dean Named to Humanities Council
- Share via
Don A. Schweitzer, dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Cal State Fullerton, is among Gov. George Deukmejian’s appointees to the California Council for the Humanities.
Deukmejian recently named Schweitzer to a four-year term on the council, which is the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Schweitzer, who lives in Placentia, came to Cal State Fullerton in 1969. He served as graduate-program coordinator of the psychology department, acting department chair and associate dean before becoming dean in 1979.
He also serves on the national board of the Literacy Volunteers of America and is the founding chairman of that group’s state program and its Placentia affiliate.
