Tom Osborne, football coach at Nebraska, has denied that any member of the Cornhusker staff instigated a federal investigation of former sports agent Mike Trope, as Trope has suggested.

In a story Monday, the Washington Post quoted Trope as saying that he believes someone in the University of Nebraska athletic department prompted the U.S. attorney’s office in Omaha to investigate his telephone records.
