Trials, Tribulations of James Lofton
Imagine my amazement when I opened the Sunday sports section of the L.A. Times and instead found the National Enquirer. I expected that an article on James Lofton, a new member of the Raiders, would concentrate on his athletic abilities. Instead, I found a full-page article about his sexual assault charges, charges of which he was acquitted.
I don’t wish to justify Lofton’s actions, but the matter is between him and his family, not the L.A. Times and its readers. Your printing of the article on Father’s Day was callous and unforgivable.
