Design Center Second Phase Topped Out

The 460,000-square-foot second phase of the Pacific Design Center’s $150-million expansion program has been topped out. The joint-venture developer is Birtcher, Laguna Niguel; Santa Fe Southern Corp., San Francisco, and the World Wide Group, New York.

Completion of the nine-level facility that will double the size of the 718,000-square-foot West Hollywood design, contract and furnishings mart is scheduled for next March, according to Murray Feldman, executive director.

The third phase will add 410,000 square feet of space, bringing the total to 1.6 million square feet. The architects are Cesar Pelli & Associates and Gruen Associates. The general contractor is HCB Contractors.
