In a dramatic irony that, in the guise of a play, he might have appreciated, veteran Broadway producer George Abbott’s 130th Broadway production--a revival of his 1926 hit “Broadway”--closed at the Royale Theater, two days after it opened as part of a celebration of Abbott’s 100th birthday. The show received withering notices when it opened Thursday--which was Abbott’s actual birthday--and folded after the Saturday evening performance, its fourth.
