Former Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback David Woodley, whose on-again, off-again retirement bothered Coach Chuck Noll, was traded to the Green Bay Packers for an undisclosed draft choice in 1988.
The 31-year-old quarterback was on the reserved-retired list last season. Just before the 1986 season, Woodley decided he’d rather work at his Florida racquetball business than accept the role of backup to starter Mark Malone.
