Police are seeking charges of receiving stolen property against two Panorama City men who were involved in a chase Tuesday that led to injuries to two officers whose car hit a school bus, detectives said.

Terrance D. Lefall, 21, and Madero Hall, 20, were arrested after leading police on a chase through parts of Sylmar and Pacoima in a pickup truck that had been reported stolen a day earlier in Van Nuys, Los Angeles police said.

Officers Steve Mulldorfer, 40, and Julian Almarez, 29, were attempting to join the chase when their police car struck a bus at Dronfield Avenue and Paxton Street in Pacoima, Detective Frank Rodriguez said.

Mulldorfer suffered several broken ribs, a concussion and facial cuts, and Almarez was recovering from bruised ribs and a concussion, Sgt. Louis Page said.

The two officers were listed in “serious to fair” condition Wednesday in the intensive care unit of Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Lefall and Hall were captured in Pacoima shortly after the accident by the first officers to pursue them in Sylmar, Page said.

Lefall was being held in the Foothill Division Jail without bail, and Hall was being held there in lieu of $15,000 bail, Detective Phil Morritt said. Each was scheduled to be arraigned today in Van Nuys Municipal Court, he said.

Lefall escaped June 6 from a halfway house in Los Angeles, where he was serving part of a two-year prison term for burglary, a state Department of Corrections spokeswoman said.
