AMERICAN LEGION HIGHLIGHTS : Chatsworth Wins, 24-0, After 5 Innings

Shawn Bowen pitched a one-hitter over five innings but Chatsworth didn’t really need it Wednesday in a 24-0 District 20 American Legion victory against Van Nuys-Grant.

The game was called after five innings because of a 10-run rule.

Bowen (2-0) struck out seven to hand Van Nuys-Grant its sixth loss in nine games.

Leading contributors for Chatsworth (7-1) were Scott Hayward (four hits, including a home run, and six RBIs), Art Lowe (three hits and four RBIs), David Maine (three hits and four runs scored), John Dunn (three hits and three runs scored) and Rex McMackin (two hits, including a home run, and four RBIs).

Mission Hills 5, Studio City 4: A passed ball made the Brothers Rosselli a winning pitching combination at Alemany High.

With the score tied, 4-4, in the bottom of the sixth, Tom Daniels of Mission Hills scored the eventual winning run on the passed ball.

Brian Rosselli, who will be a senior next season at Alemany High, pitched four innings in relief, including a scoreless seventh, to raise his record to 2-0. His brother, Joey Rosselli, who will be a sophomore at Alemany, started the game for Mission Hills and pitched the first three innings. Both pitchers struck out three.

Jon Beauchemin drove in two runs for Mission Hills (9-2), which had RBIs from Ray Cano and Steve Walsh. Sean Sosa had three hits.

Nino Romo (1-4) took the loss for Studio City (1-9).
