A San Francisco secretary has been charged with the murder of her baby, whose body was discovered in a trash can at Miami International Airport, authorities reported. Julie Killeen, 22, faces charges of second-degree murder in Platte County, Mo., because the baby was born during the Kansas City layover of an Eastern Airlines flight from San Francisco to Miami. Officers located Killeen, a secretary with Smith Barney Harris Upham & Co., at her father’s house in northern Dade County. Metro-Dade police said she maintained that the baby was stillborn and she then smuggled it off the plane wrapped in an airline pillow cover. But the Dade County medical examiner’s office ruled that the 6-pound girl was born alive, and was asphyxiated.
