Torrance : Employees to Get 4.5% Raise
The City Council and two employee unions reached tentative agreement this week on a salary and fringe benefit package amounting to a 4.5% increase. The accord, which is to be approved in final form in several weeks, covers employees in the Parks and Recreation Department and those in the supervisory and professional employees union.
Negotiations continue with the city’s largest unions, Local 1117 of the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees, which represents about 400 employees, and the Torrance Police Officers Assn., which represents about 330 police employees.
