Moving Time for Wildlife

Now that the iron monsters have arrived on the Segerstrom bean field bordering South Coast Drive in Costa Mesa, the following will happen:

I will miss the two beautiful foxes that have traversed the bean fields for years. And sometimes they even crossed the street and entered through my guard gate, where I have a bird’s-eye view of the bean field.

I will miss the mallard ducks flying in for a landing, like fighter planes, onto the concrete-lined creek. I will miss the large, white egrets that land daily in the field for a meal of worms.

I will also miss the daily battle between the mocking birds and the crows, the beautiful sound of the meadowlarks and the sight of the large hawks soaring over the field.

Where will these beautiful creatures go, now that the iron monsters are digging up their field and once the concrete jungles expand onto other fields like it?
