Support for former National Security Adviser John M. Poindexter remained strong Wednesday in his hometown, which plans to name a street after him in front of the high school he attended.

As the Navy rear admiral took the hot seat in Washington to testify before the select House-Senate panel investigating the Iran- contra scandal, Poindexter’s southern Indiana hometown of about 1,500 people was “very much in support of John,” said John Myers, editor of the weekly Odon Journal.
