A Montgomery, Ala., judge has ruled against a woman who claims she is the illegitimate daughter of Hank Williams Sr. and has a right to proceeds or royalties from the singer’s estate. Montgomery County Circuit Judge Mark Kennedy said that even if Williams fathered Cathy Stone, she has no claim to his estate because he never tried to legitimize her and because she was adopted twice. Hank Williams Jr. and trustees of Fred Rose Publishing, which handles the elder Williams’ song rights, filed suit to have Stone barred from trying to establish that Hank Williams Sr. was her father.
