Rape Suspect Tossed on Bonfire
A woman being raped on Venice Beach early today was rescued by beachgoers who hurled her alleged assailant into a nearby bonfire, police said. The suspect, a 27-year-old man whose name has not been released, suffered burns over 20% of his body and was taken to County-USC Medical Center in serious condition, police said. The rescuers left the beach before police arrived.
