Former USC tailback Aaron Emanuel will face trial on charges that he attacked two female students in separate incidents, a Municipal Court judge said Wednesday.

Judge Victor Person set Emanuel’s trial date for Aug. 10 in Pasadena Municipal Court.

The 20-year-old Emanuel, who was previously released on his own recognizance, didn’t appear in court Wednesday.

He is charged with battery with serious bodily injury in connection with an alleged attack May 3 on track team member Sharon Hatfield. He also is charged with battery in connection with an alleged attack on an unidentified 23-year-old USC student in December, Deputy Dist. Atty. David Demerjian said.

If convicted, Emanuel faces a maximum penalty of a year in county jail on the charge related to Hatfield, and six months in county jail and a $2,000 fine if convicted on the charge related to the other woman.
