Prisons in L.A. County

It is my sincere recommendation that Councilwoman Gloria Molina and the rest of the crusaders against the East Los Angeles prison site re-examine their motives.
Criminals behind bars are an improvement over the gangs, drug dealers and other unsupervised felons now roaming the streets of the city.
Furthermore, the prison would mean jobs for many people who could get off welfare and into jobs that they would qualify for because they are uneducated.
Of course it is just one more slap at our Republican governor who can no doubt see through this whole shabby act. People are only oppressed when self-pity replaces self-pride and self-respect.
