UNCOMMERCIALS
John Rohrbeck, the general manager of KNBC, doesn’t want Fritz Coleman to appear in the public service announcements about water conservation because Rohrbeck doesn’t believe “news people should do commercials” (Outtakes, by Jeff Meyers, July 19).
Every time I turn on Channel 4, there are station promos with Coleman and Fred Roggin playing basketball or the anchors telling us stories that “are all apart of life.”
Imagine what we’d see if Rohrbeck were in favor of news people doing commercials.
