Alhambra : Supermarket Sought
Acting as the city Redevelopment Agency, the City Council has invited developers to offer proposals for a large supermarket, such as a Vons Pavilion, and other stores in the central business area.
The property to be redeveloped is on the north side of Main Street between Almansor and Chapel avenues. Much of the block is occupied by vacant buildings. City Manager Kevin Murphy said property owners have been unable to attract new tenants to replace the J. C. Penney Co. and other retailers who have moved.
