Duarte : New Terms for Panels Set
The City Council has voted 4 to 1, with Terry Michaelis dissenting, to change the municipal code so that the four-year terms of members of the Planning, Parks and Recreation, Traffic and Safety, and Cable Communications commissions will expire in January of even-numbered years. .
Terms will remain staggered but because of the change, some commissioners will lose up to 15 months on their terms and some will serve an additional 15 months.
Michaelis objected to a part of the ordinance that provides for a member of the City Council to serve as liaison to the commissions.
