A woman wanted for three killings in the Los Angeles area was captured in Cincinnati. Catherine Ann Reed, 28, of Venice was at a telephone booth when officers in the Ohio city made the arrest, Los Angeles Police Detective Kirk Mellecker said. Reed’s boyfriend, Vincent Bruce, 24, and another alleged accomplice known only as Cosmo were still being sought in the slayings of two men and a young woman last March 4 in Palms and Inglewood. They also are suspected in the near-fatal stabbings of two other people. No-bail murder arrest warrants were obtained for Reed, Bruce and Cosmo in the slayings of Evelyn Owens and her boyfriend, Keith Hodnett, both 20, and Gino Simmons, 26. Mellecker said the motive was robbery. He said Reed and one of her alleged partners had bragged to their victims that they were Bonnie and Clyde and that they modeled their criminal activities after the Depression-era bank robbers Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker.
