Bryan Gorman to Take Another Shot at Open
As an amateur last year, Bryan Gorman won the San Diego County Open golf tournament but didn’t get to take home the $6,000 first prize.
This time around, Gorman is a pro, and the winner of the four-day tournament, which starts at 6 a.m. today at Cottonwood Country Club, will receive $13,000.
Gorman shot a 17-under-par 274 at Cottonwood last summer to finish six strokes ahead of second-place Dirk Jones, a pro.
Lon Hinkle, Cesar Sanudo, Victor Regalado and Lenny Clements are among those entered.
The first and second rounds will be played today and Friday at the Ivanhoe and Monte Vista courses at Cottonwood. The final two rounds will be played at Ivanhoe. The tournament is open to the public. Admission is free.
