Northwestern University plans to drop its track and cross-country programs after the 1987-88 seasons, the Chicago Tribune reported.
The Big Ten Conference school notified athletes this week that men’s and women’s cross-country and men’s and women’s track and field, indoor and outdoor, would be scrapped after this school year for economic reasons, the paper said.
