An 85-acre brush fire was extinguished Sunday afternoon by the California Department of Forestry, but not before several ranches were evacuated.
A CDF spokesman said the blaze, which started near the junction of Skyline Truck Trail and Lyons Valley Road, was contained within three hours by 200 firefighters aided by two helicopters and five air tankers, including two from Hemet in Riverside County.
No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported, the CDF said.
