A 14-year-old Lancaster boy was fatally injured when he fell from a 100-foot ocean cliff on Santa Catalina Island, authorities said. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Dale Goss said Garner Idleman and two other youths attending a YMCA outing apparently were trying to climb down a steep hillside when Garner lost his footing and plunged to the rocks below. Carl Meseck, general manager of the Glendale YMCA, said the boys wandered away from an authorized trail.
